Well it’s time for my spring playlist, although it seems to me that spring in New Jersey is becoming increasingly rare. This year we got a handful of warm days, then temperatures plunged to just below comfortable for weeks, and now it’s going to be 90 degrees on Wednesday, which means I’m already starting my summer playlist, lol! That being said, there’s some great stuff in this one (if I do say so myself) so check it out if you’re looking for some new tunes!
> How Loud Your Heart Gets – Lucius (I was reminded how great this album is when I heard them recently on A Prairie Home Companion)
> Don’t Kill My Vibe – Sigrid
> Green Light – Lorde (It has been FAR too long since Lorde put out new music, so this was very welcome. Also, A+ song to run to.)
> In the Water – D.D Dumbo
> BMFA – Martha Wainwright (That’s the censored title. Martha has complicated feelings about her father, Loudon Wainwright III, as this song is about him.)
> It Is Well – Toulouse

Considering temperatures hit the 60s last weekend I may be a bit behind with posting my winter playlist. But in case this weather’s just a cruel fakeout, take a listen to what I’ve been enjoying over the past couple of months.
> On + Off – Maggie Rogers (you may remember Rogers from this viral video with Pharrell. So far I’ve loved everything she’s released.)
> My Boo (triple j Like A Version) – Flume, Vince Staples, KUČKA, Ngaiire, Vera Blue (what can I say, this song just puts me in a good mood)
> Into the Ether – Leif Vollebekk
> Not Always – Ama Lou
> Take Me Back – Deep Cuts (I’m apparently quite the sucker for a sax solo)
> Only (Kaskade x Lipless Remix) – RY X, Kaskade, Lipless (love the original, love the remix)

> 33 “GOD” – Bon Iver
> Blue Lagoon – KEØMA
> All in My Feelings – Harloe
> Walls – Kings of Leon (I love Caleb Followill’s voice so much)

Sorry to have been so MIA the past month or so, things got a little hectic between life, work, and vacation planning, and I didn’t have much time for this blog. Plus, I’d like to change the name of this blog because I think it’s too similar to another (much more popular) blog, and that makes me a little uncomfortable. So to tide you over, here’s some songs of my current summer playlist.
> Everlasting Sigh – Moses Sumney
> There Will Be Time – Mumford & Sons (feat. Baaba Maal, The Very Best & Beatenberg)
> Dreamer – Mokita (feat. Kaptan)
> Baby – KINGDM (feat. Kevin Garrett)
> I Need Never Get Old – Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats
> You and Me – Penny & The Quarters

I like to make playlists for each new season. This stems from how I used to make mix CDs to listen to in my car that I would play the crap out of for a few months before getting bored and wanting some fresh tunes. Now I’m continuing that tradition with Spotify. I have to say, the Discover Weekly playlist on Monday is truly a highlight of my week, and has introduced me to so many artists I may have never heard otherwise.
Here’s a few tunes I’ve been digging recently from my spring playlist to start off your week:
> Water – Ra Ra Raiot, Rostam
> Winterbreak – MUNA
> Like a Friend – Pulp
> Answer – Connie Constance
> Cool Out – Matthew E. White (feat. Natalie Prass)
> New Glass – Roseau
